Setting Up an Internet Connection - Windows XP

Start out by selecting "Control Panels" from your "Start" menu.

If given the option, click on "Switch to Classic View."

Next, please open the "Network Connections" control panel.

Click on "Create a new connection" (or select "New Connection" from the "File" menu.)

Click "Next" on the "Welcome" screen.

Select "Connect to the Internet" and click "Next."

Click on "Set up my connection manually" and hit "Next."

Select "Connect using a dialup modem" and press "Next."

For "ISP Name," type "PressEnter" and click "Next."

For "Phone number," enter your local dialup number. If you're unsure what this is, please give our office a call."

For "User Name," enter your PressEnter login name (all in small letters.) Type your password in "Password" and "Confirm Password." Make sure you use the proper case. Leave the first two boxes checked, but uncheck "Turn on Internet Connection Firewall."

Put a check into the checkbox for "Add a shortcut to this connection to my desktop" and click "Finish." Your connection is now configured!
